Growing instructions
Product description
When your plant is inside, you’ll want to give it as much light as possible. This can be done by placing it in a sunny window (though be careful that too much direct sun can burn your plant), or by setting it under grow lights or shop lights fitted with one cool and one warm bulb.
Sowing:
Soak the seeds for 24 – 48 hrs in lukewarm water.
Then place the seeds approximately one centimeter deep into the substrate and moisten. The cultivation soil must always be kept moist, but not wet.
The soil should also be a total of at least six centimeters deep, since lemon tree first forms a taproot. Place the cultivation pot in a warm and predominately dark area (ideal are temperatures of approximately 25 °C, and high humidity). Light is not needed for germination, however later on the plant will need much light. Approximately one year on, the seedling is transplanted into larger pots with citrus soil.
The lemon seedling needs a lot of water, light and warmth – it is best kept on a warm windowsill. It is best to water it every one to two days, however only when the substrate surface is dry. Spray the plant with hand-warm water every now and then. Fertilizer is not needed yet since the little lemon plant gets its nutrients from the seed for the first 6 months.
