CULTIVATION:

Pre-soak the seeds in lukewarm water for 24–48 hours. Afterward, plant the seed about one centimeter deep into the substrate and moisten it. The seed-starting soil must always be kept nicely moist, but not wet. The soil should also be at least six centimeters deep, as lemons initially develop a taproot downwards. Place the propagation container in a warm (temperatures around 25°C and high humidity are ideal) and rather dark location. The seed does not require light to germinate, but as a growing plant later on, it will need all the more. At around one year of age, the seedlings are transplanted into larger pots with appropriate citrus soil.
The fresh lemon seedling requires plenty of water, light, and warmth – a sunny windowsill is the best place for it. It is best to water it every one to two days, but only after the surface of the substrate has already dried out. Spray the little plant from time to time with lukewarm water. You do not need to fertilize the small citrus tree yet, as it feeds itself from the seed up to an age of about six months.
